Food here is great! We had the beef kabobs and the lamb chops- lamb chops were especially good. Service was kind and fast, and the restaurant was very nice as well.

A cute restaurant at the edge of CWE, Sultan offers a taste of the Mediterranean in the Midwest. We came in to check if they could accommodate my food allergies and the owner was immediately on top of it advising me what to stay away from. We ordered to-go and got a falafel wrap and subbed the hummus for garlic yogurt sauce. The falafel was well seasoned and maintained moisture. I liked the added flavors of the pickled veggies in the wrap. We also ordered a gyro which came deconstructed and was difficult to put all together. I'm not sure if this was because it was to-go or how it is normally served. The restaurant also has an area for hookah. I did not think it was smoky but it certainly smelled like hookah so if that is a problem for you, I'd recommend getting it to go. Overall, the food was fresh and pretty flavorful so I would go back.

After relocating to the charming Grove area, I found myself hunting for a new favorite restaurant and stumbled upon a real gem. Although I've yet to dine in the cozy interior, the inviting atmosphere radiates the warmth typical of Mediterranean eateries. I've already indulged in two to-go orders, and my taste buds have found their happy place with the mixed grill and musakhan. Each bite is a burst of flavor that genuinely brings the region's essence to life. If you're looking for a culinary adventure, these dishes are a must-try! For anyone in The Grove looking to satisfy their craving for mouthwatering food, I wholeheartedly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed!

Very original! Super fresh and quality food. Truly enjoyed it! It's not a fancy place, family oriented. Go with time, everything is freshly done, I recommend get plates centered to eat off eat dish individually. Dishes are well served.

Self proclaimed food snob regarding Mediterranean food having worked at a restaurant when I was young. This restaurant was a true gem and I'm so glad I found them. The restaurant is small and seems family owned. Not pretentious. Instead warm and inviting. Bonus points that it's in a gayborhood. Worth the uber from my downtown hotel. My only complaint about the space would be the sound travels with no background music so I tried not to listen to every conversation around me. Eventually they turned in music which helped. The food - the baba ganoush and hummus were amazing and a very healthy portion was provided. The pita is about a foot in diameter and is cooked fresh and delicious. I had the chicken and beef skewers. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Perfectly. Moist and flavorful. The beef had great flavor but the texture was a little off putting. It was also cooked well. The rice was great as well as the tabbouleh as the sid Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious dinner off the downtown corridor and the bonus of a family run restaurant.

I've eaten at Sultan more times than I can count. When I lived in St. Louis, it was my favorite spot--and I brought everyone I could. Now I fly back just to eat here. You haven't lived until you've had their baba ganoush, and I stand by it as my favorite in the world.

This is my second time trying Sultan Mediterranean after being underwhelmed from my first experience when I got the Munto dish. I'm glad I gave it another try for takeout recently since it changed my opinion to be more positive. I shared the Mixed Grill and Dolma dishes. The mixed grill was tasty, but I thought the rice outshined the meat, which seems like it should be reversed. I have never tried grape leaves, but I was happily surprised by the Dolma dish flavoring and was delighted to find all the veggies were all stuffed with the rice mixture. I'd say if you're in the grove, it's worth trying out and would be great place for a group to share and try different dishes to see which works for your taste.

So dang delicious. Come to Sultān!! I visited on a Saturday night and was fortunately able to grab a table. There was a special event happening in the back, but service was still efficient and our food came out at the right time. This visit, I enjoyed the Saksuka appetizer & shared the lamb kebab and Sheeshbarak entrees. The lamb was phenomenal--flavorful, tender on the inside & crisp on the outside. Beautiful light fixtures and overall a lovely place to be. I can't wait to come back!!

My husband was craving some Mediterranean food and it was a nice day so we found this spot in the Grove to walk around after. It was awesome. Really cool aesthetic and the servers were so nice. We split the sampler with beef, lamb, and chicken and it was fantastic. All the meat was spiced well and tasted so good. Everything we had was top notch and so fresh. We will definitely be back when we have a craving!

A beautiful corner restaurant in The Grove. I loved the way the natural light entered the dining area. The staff were attentive and kind. During the lunch hour when you order an entree you are served a bowl of Lentil Soup. If you are dining after 3 pm order you a dish because it pairs well with their entrees. I enjoyed the Chicken Kabob plate. The rice and grilled tomato salad made this dish filling. The Munto dumplings were my favorite out of the few dishes we ordered. We ordered the chicken strips and fries for our toddler. This is something we get often so it was noticeable that it took him a few meals but he ate the serving in its entirety. I would recommend this location for dates, time out with friends, or for families.
